Picmal converts and compresses images, videos, and audio files on your Mac — no setup, no technical knowledge required. Drop your files and go. For those who want more control, an advanced mode is available with sensible defaults already dialed in. Picmal feels native because it is: fully integrated with macOS, available wherever apps live on your system. Everything runs locally on your machine, keeping your files private by default.

The app now detects corrupted video files (like ones missing the moov atom) and lets you know clearly instead of failing without explanation.
Faster launch time. The app no longer blocks on non-essential setup before showing the first screen.
